Techniques Study 1

I've been trying to learn new techniques for the photomanipulations I work on. This is a study I did to learn how to draw hair better and make the image look more painted. I finally figured out a better way to draw hair, which has alluded me for a long time.

What do you all think? Does the hair look good? The overall image?
